Vinyls

Benefits

If you are looking to redo the floor in your kitchen or bathroom, then vinyl flooring is something you need to consider. There are many benefits to working with vinyl flooring over other types but you may not have looked at or considered it because you do not like the look or feel of vinyl flooring. Well I am here to tell you that much of that has changed significantly in the last couple of years. When you look at the benefits of vinyl flooring today over what it was in the past there are some significant changes.

Changes To Vinyl Flooring

One of the biggest advantages of vinyl flooring in the past was its cost and durability. These benefits are still found in vinyl flooring today. But the problem was that with those benefits came a perceived negative look and feel of vinyl. Today that has all changed and with things like vinyl plank flooring you can get a floor that is less expensive, easier to install and maintain, and much more durable then wood that looks practically indistinguishable from wood.

While the wood grain of the faux vinyl flooring is by far the most popular, it is not the only option available. You can also select from faux stone, faux ceramic tile, as well as many different colors and styles within those kinds.

When you install either tile or hardwood you have to lay down and place each piece on the floor one at a time. Installing vinyl flooring is much simpler as it comes in either a roll or a strip. All you have to do is clean your floor with a good sweep, vacuum and mop. Then wait for the floor to dry and roll the vinyl out. Today vinyl comes pre-glued so all you need to do is peel the backing off the adhesive and lay the vinyl down on the dry floor. Once it is laid down you can smooth it out either by hand or with a dry dust mop. Match each of the strips up, cut to meet the wall, and you are done. What you left is a floor that is far more durable then its counterpart that looks and feels like the real thing.

This durability is one of the greatest features of vinyl flooring. Hardwood floors are very susceptible to scratches and stains, whereas a vinyl floor can stand up to this abuse. If you have pets, then you know how damaging they can be to a hardwood floor.

As you can see there are many benefits to getting a vinyl floor with very few negatives. Take a look at Floors2You’s range of vinyl flooring to see what options you have available to you.
